"Health equity must be our North Star. We cannot resign ourselves to accepting health inequities; instead, we need a concerted moonshot effort to address the systemic barriers and social determinants of health that contribute to poor health and that hinder people from reaching their full potential." Compact member Amie Shei (The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts) shares her thoughts on how Massachusetts is losing ground when it comes to public health. Cross-sector collaboration and development of new strategies are needed to address the factors that most impact our population's health. We must maximize our opportunity with Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) funds by prioritizing social determinants of health.
